Scientists have been the links between drug addiction and addiction to fast food. Now research regarding this issue have become more profound and new research indicates that junk food is linked to addiction to cocaine and heroin, at least in animals.
The researchers showed that the pleasure center in the brain of rats was over stimulated by fast food, having the same effect produced by cocaine addicts.
Eventually the pleasure centers are so saturated that every time they need more and more quantities of junk food to feel normal, according to Paul H. Kenny, professor of molecular therapies Scripps Research Institute.
