There is an advisory function is worth emphasizing in particular: helping parents redefine their role with the child in a healthy way. Why is this necessary? Because when a child is abusing substances and confusion comes to occur in family life, it is foreseeable that at some level, there is a change of roles that is negative. Instead of having the child adjust to the demands of your system healthy family is the family system which tends to adapt to the unsafe operation of the child. Instead of parents to initiate and implement constructive terms within which assumes that the child will live, the situation is becoming more reactive and are the parents who fit the terms proposed by the child’s destructive.

At this point, counseling can help restore some constructive parenting substance-abusing men. Why is this so important? Because it is very difficult for a young or a girl who behaves in a manner to achieve health in an unhealthy family system model which reinforces their own unhealthy behavior. When parents are helping to replace the confusing, inconsistent, and permissive behavior, with firm and constructive attitudes, the child is distressed with a set of rules and expectations healthy from which you can choose to live.
