Video games scare drug and alcohol

Apparently the game and the drugs and alcohol do not get along very well together, but rather those who use video games usually do not consume drugs and alcohol, according to a study.

Taking a sample of 2,000 persons between the ages of 18 and 35 years, scientists were able to verify that there is no direct relationship between those who play video games and those who consume drugs and alcohol. This sample included 40% women and 70% of those participants reported having played a game two or more times in the last month.

Smart Women drink more alcohol?

If you were the typical always got 10 in the school as a child and now easily reach success in any venture work, then do not be surprised every time you exceed drinks. One study showed that smart women drink more alcohol .

Researchers from the London School of Economics concluded that the higher the educational level of a woman, the greater your chances of drinking and therefore have problems of alcoholism . But it would be no accident, for college women usually have children later, have greater social life or work in places dominated by men and the culture of alcohol. This increases their contact with the beverage. (more…)

Addiction Rehab

Many feel that alcoholism and drug abuse is a social problem and a tendency to characterize people who drink heavily, take illicit drugs or be bothered by other behavioral problems addiction as morally weak or who have criminal tendencies. They believe that drug addicts should be able to just stop their behavior with willpower alone …!

These false beliefs have not only stereotyped those with alcoholism and drug addiction, but also their families, their communities, and health professionals who work with them. The fact is that alcoholism and drug abuse is a serious health problem that affects scores among us with serious social, economic and health consequences. It is important that the public be educated about these serious issues, so that the long-held myths about alcoholism and drug abuse can be replaced with scientific evidence that addiction is a chronic, relapsing, and treated disease. The Existential Anxiety and Drug Abuse (part II)

Not consider the obstacles as stepping stones to advance but are the excuses you need to not make the attempt to dare to be different.

In these cases, a neurotic behavior or addiction is a pathological way to achieve an apparent equilibrium.

The angst does not require staff to change the environment nor ignore the need drowning in alcohol or drugs, because it only involves an inner change, a transformation that allows to see things differently.

Is not a question of doing different things but to have another perspective and act in new and unique.

The despair is the engine of life that forces us to go forward or change direction, perfecting and strive to be better, is the force that drives us to be who we are and fulfill our purpose. (more…)

The Existential Anxiety and Drug Abuse
The despair is normal when you live as an engine of life, because it represents the strength to be who we are and the encouragement we need to fulfill our purpose.

However, there is another way of living the anguish of being, where any effort is too much, you do not have enough courage and strength to aim to search for the meaning of existence itself and the prevailing trend is to allow oneself to be and live a mediocre life and selfish without specific targets.

This inner emptiness in some people, can cause depression, anxiety, stress and addictions to mitigate the effects of all these symptoms. (more…)

The loss of a loved one, the break-ups and separations in general (among several others related to emotional factors), those occur in affective disorders in some severe cases, sometimes not only linked to depression and anxiety, and go to the field of addictions.

Addiction to any drug they are understood by people with an affective disorder as a way to escape the adverse situation that we are experiencing. One such drug is alcohol, and science has much to say about this area.

In general, marijuana is smoked as a cigarette or a whistle or pipe or water pipe (bong). In recent years, marijuana has appeared in a pure form of cigarette type (blunts). Take out the snuff to a cigar and filled with marijuana, sometimes mixed with another drug such as crack. Some users also mix marijuana into foods or use to make tea.

The main active chemical in marijuana is THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol). In the short term, the effects of marijuana use include problems with memory and learning, distorted perception, difficulty thinking and problem solving, loss of coordination and increased heart rate, anxiety and panic attacks. But the dangers to health are widespread, affecting vital organs and functions.

Cocaine is a powerfully addictive drug. People who have tried it describe the experience as euphoria (known in English as a “high”) which gives them a powerful sense of supremacy. However, once the person begins to use cocaine, you can not predict or control the extent to continue using the drug. The main ways to ingest cocaine are snorted or by snorting, injecting or smoking (this is the case both with cocaine free base as crack).

The health risks exist regardless of whether cocaine is inhaled (aspirated), injected or smoked. Nevertheless, it appears that compulsive cocaine use may develop faster when that inhaling smoke. Smoke it allows extremely high doses of the drug reaching the brain more quickly and produces an immediate and intense euphoria. The user that is injected also at risk of contracting or transmitting HIV infection / AIDS if they share needles or other injection equipment.
