Drugs, fame and education in adolescents

The BBC website has published an interesting survey a few days ago that has left me thinking a lot. This is one of the phenomena that has been inserted since the sixties (at least at the media level) between the circles of fame: the drug. .
Music, movies, art, fashion, among other circles of fame have been witnessing cases of celebrities who are attached to the drug to ever go out and die within them in the worst cases, or other recovery, but having caused extensive damage to its image and body, and having a life completely different from your previous lifestyle of addiction.

It is notable that the rise of many stars have been marked by his addiction to drugs , because it sells and generates a large-scale media attraction. The legislation also helps to mitigate this trend, as indeed receive the punishment that these celebrities do not go in any community work or a few days of detention. (more…)

Video games scare drug and alcohol

Apparently the game and the drugs and alcohol do not get along very well together, but rather those who use video games usually do not consume drugs and alcohol, according to a study.

Taking a sample of 2,000 persons between the ages of 18 and 35 years, scientists were able to verify that there is no direct relationship between those who play video games and those who consume drugs and alcohol. This sample included 40% women and 70% of those participants reported having played a game two or more times in the last month.

Addiction Rehab

Many feel that alcoholism and drug abuse is a social problem and a tendency to characterize people who drink heavily, take illicit drugs or be bothered by other behavioral problems addiction as morally weak or who have criminal tendencies. They believe that drug addicts should be able to just stop their behavior with willpower alone …!

These false beliefs have not only stereotyped those with alcoholism and drug addiction, but also their families, their communities, and health professionals who work with them. The fact is that alcoholism and drug abuse is a serious health problem that affects scores among us with serious social, economic and health consequences. It is important that the public be educated about these serious issues, so that the long-held myths about alcoholism and drug abuse can be replaced with scientific evidence that addiction is a chronic, relapsing, and treated disease. Damage Caused by Drug Use

Health: drug use causes or is involved in the development of several diseases, damages and organic and psychological problems. For example: Hepatitis, cirrhosis, cardiovascular disorders, Depression, Psychosis, Paranoia, etc..

When you start to need more drugs than other people may be ruined or destroyed intimate relationships and friendships lost. You can stop participating in the world, drop goals and plans, but grow as a person, not a constructive attempt to solve problems and use more drugs as a “solution.”

The abuse of drugs can also harm others, for example, the money being paid drugs can deprive family life satisfaction as food or clothing. Discussing the problems and issues of addiction can lead to family conflicts. Violent reactions to drugs may lead the user to commit assaults and even murder. If a pregnant woman take drugs without medical supervision can cause birth defects in the new being who is in management. (more…)

Addicts are more susceptible to various physical and mental disorders that are associated with toxic side effects of drugs and drug abuse. Not consider the obstacles as stepping stones to advance but are the excuses you need to not make the attempt to dare to be different.

In these cases, a neurotic behavior or addiction is a pathological way to achieve an apparent equilibrium.

The angst does not require staff to change the environment nor ignore the need drowning in alcohol or drugs, because it only involves an inner change, a transformation that allows to see things differently.

Is not a question of doing different things but to have another perspective and act in new and unique.

The despair is the engine of life that forces us to go forward or change direction, perfecting and strive to be better, is the force that drives us to be who we are and fulfill our purpose. (more…)

The Existential Anxiety and Drug Abuse
The despair is normal when you live as an engine of life, because it represents the strength to be who we are and the encouragement we need to fulfill our purpose.

However, there is another way of living the anguish of being, where any effort is too much, you do not have enough courage and strength to aim to search for the meaning of existence itself and the prevailing trend is to allow oneself to be and live a mediocre life and selfish without specific targets.

This inner emptiness in some people, can cause depression, anxiety, stress and addictions to mitigate the effects of all these symptoms. (more…)

Prescription Drugs According to Sex

Differences according to sex

Studies suggest that it is more likely to prescribe a prescription medication which may be abused – particularly narcotics and antianxiety drugs – a woman than a man. In some cases, the probability is 48 percent higher.

In general, both men and women have roughly similar rates of nonmedical use of prescription drugs. There is an exception in the group of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years. In this group, is more likely to be women more than men who use drugs for nonmedical reasons psychotherapy. In addition, research has shown that women and men who use prescription opioids are equally likely to become addicted. However, among women and men who use either a depressant, an anti-anxiety drug, or hypnotic, women are almost twice as likely to become addicted.
